Dr Roland Hor

Roland is currently Principal at Frontier Ventures, assisting companies with strategy, fund-raising, project management, business, product and market development in areas such as Web/SaaS applications, online marketplaces, SCADA, data analytics and mobile applications. He has over 20 years of strategic and operational experience in the information technology, financial, logistics and government.

He was formerly VP Products and Technology/Country Manager for Entellium Technologies, a Seattle-based Customer Relationship Management SaaS Provider that competed directly with Salesforce.com before being acquired by Intuit Inc.

Roland has also been Chief Technology Officer/General Manager at SNT Global Solutions, an e-logistics business process and IT outsourcing venture, after selling his previous startup, Whatz.net.

He is a pioneer in the internet industry and was Co-founder/Managing Director of Information Frontiers, the team that conceptualized, developed and operated the award-winning Financial Interactive Services Hub (FISH) – the first Asian real time financial portal.

He also had a stint as developer at IBM's application development labs in Bethesda, Md. working on "OfficeVision" and OS/2 during the “OS wars”. He began his career in information technology at the Information Technology Institute (the R&D arm of the National Computer Board) – as Systems Engineer and later as Assistant Director of Technology.

Roland has been a board director at a number of companies, as well as in organizing committees of many IT conferences and events. He holds a PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and is a certified Project Management Professional.

He has been through a number of trends in technology which has gifted him with a keen eye for what works.
